1- Loops & Threads Country Loom (I used the Warm Cream colorway)

6.5mm Crochet Hook

3.5mm Crochet Hook

Twine or String

Large/Medium sized Wood Beads (or beads of your choice)

Scissors

Tapestry Needle

PolyFil

Hot Glue Stick & Gun

Notes: You will hold a strand of the Latte Cake and Country Loom while crocheting the owl body.

Owl Body

Crochet the body while holding a strand of the Caron Latte Cake yarn & the Country Loom yarn at the same time. Use the 6.5mm crochet hook.

Round 1- 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2- increase around (12)

3- *sc 1, inc.* repeat around (18)

4-9 sc around (18)

10- dec., sc 7, dec., sc 6, sl st in last sc. (16)

Tie off and cut yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.

Eye Circle (make 2)

Crochet the eye circles while using 1 strand of the Caron Latte Cake yarn, and 3.5mm crochet hook.

Round 1- 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2- increase around (12)

3- *sc 1, inc.* repeat around (18)

Tie off and cut yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.

Wings (make 2)

Crochet the wings while using 1 strand of the Caron Latte Cake yarn, and 3.5mm crochet hook.

In a magic circle crochet:

3 trc, 4 dc, 1 trc, 4dc, 3trc

Pull the ring mostly closed. Ch 2 and sl st into the ring.

Tie off and cut while leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

Insert 12mm safety eyes through the center of the eye circle. Push the safety eye between rows 8 & 9. Place the back on the safety eye. Insert the second safety eye/eye circle 7-8 sts away from the 1st eye circle. Place back on the safety eye.

To make sure that the safety eyes are extra secure; I like to melt the backs.

Once the back of the safety eye is melted, push it down with the bottom of the lighter to fuse the safety ring and eye together.

Take a strand of the Latte Cakes yarn and sew a little owl beak through rows 5 & 6 centered with the eye circles. Tie and secure within the owl body.

Stuff the body and sew the top closed with yarn tail.

Add tufts of yarn to the top corners of the body.

Cut strands of the Latte Cakes and Country Loom yarn. Fold the yarn strands in half. Insert your hook through the top corner of the owl body, and pull the folded strands through to secure them. Trim the tufts of yarn to your desired length.

Sew the wings to towards the bottom on the sides of the owl body.

Cut a 12in. strand of twine. Fold it in half and loop it through the top center of the owl body. Tie it off while leaving a nice sized loop.

This loop is what you will use to hang your ornament. Be sure to make it large enough.

Insert the top of the loop through your needle and slide the wooden beads down the strand. Once you place the 1st bead onto the strand; trim the twine tail to hide it within the wooden bead.

Add a dab of hot glue between the beads to secure them to the twine and each other.

Taa-daaaa! You have the cutest little hoot to add to your tree!!

I hope you enjoy this pattern!
Happy hookin'!
